About this CD
|
WITH A VISION to experience science in a more realistic setting, Life Science students at UNSW ventured beyond the confines of our university science laboratories and lecture theatres, and we opened our eyes to the diversity of scientific research and education. ‘A day in the Life Sciences in Australia’ commenced with humble beginnings. A group project on a large scale turned into a snapshot of science in our community. We nailed a window frame around the 17th of April 2003. It was a day in the life of Australian Science. It was 1/365th of the year’s work of the scientists who have generously let us in their workplace and allowed us to capture what they were working on. When we pulled back the curtains of this window and took a look through, we saw priceless insights into Australian science in general. We have not
only witnessed real science at work, but we have in many ways experienced
the processes that we, as prospective scientists, will utilise in the
future. Covering diverse topics from psychology to botany, this project
educated students in invaluable areas ranging from practical experiences
in our collaboration (such as communication & multimedia applications)
to theoretical understanding of the framework of professional science. |
